It's been nearly a month since Spider-Man: No Way Home was released in cinemas worldwide and it continues to dominate at the box office, taking over $1.5 billion worldwide, becoming the 8th highest-grossing film of all time in the process.
Tom Holland's latest solo outing has now risen above the likes of Avengers: Age of Ultron and Frozen II, with Jurassic World and The Lion King within its sights. It is the third highest-grossing Marvel movie of all time, and it should go without saying that it is the highest-grossing Spider-Man movie of all time.
Earlier this week it was revealed that Morbius, set within Sony's Spider-Man Universe, was moved from its original January 28th release date to April 1st. It was originally suspected that this move was due to the Omicron variant of COVID-19, although recent reports suggest that the move was actually due to the fact that Spider-Man: No Way Home has exceeded expectations and Sony Pictures did not want to release an unproven IP against its biggest film of all time.
The next big screen appearance of Spider-Man will be in Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse (Part One), currently scheduled for release on October 7th, 2022.
Spider-Man: No Way Home, directed by John Watts, is in cinemas now and stars Tom Holland (Peter Parker / Spider-Man), Zendaya (M.J.), Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Stephen Strange / Doctor Strange), Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds), Marisa Tomei (Aunt May), Jon Favreau (Happy Hogan), Willem Dafoe (Norman Osborn / Green Goblin), Alfred Molina (Doc Ock), Jamie Foxx (Electro) and J.K. Simmons (J. Jonah Jameson).
