A single page from a Spider-Man comic book has sold for $3.36 million at an auction in Dallas, Texas, selling over ten times its original opening bid.
The single page of art, which comes from Issue #8 of the infamous 1984 series Secret Wars, was drawn by artist Mike Zeck and shows the debut of the black symbiote suit, which would later be revealed as the character Venom. This comes after an issue of Spider-Man from 1962 sold for $3.6 million in 2021, toppling Superman to become the most expensive comic book of all time.

"When it hit its final price, shattering all previous comic art records, the auction gallery erupted with cheers", said Heritage Auctions in a statement. Not surprisingly, no information has been revealed about the buyer or seller.
Interest in Spider-Man is at an all-time high right now, with Spider-Man: No Way Home still performing well at the worldwide box office, despite finally being dethroned by Scream this week (at the North American Box-Office, it still remains #1 worldwide!), and with 2022 being the 60th anniversary since the character's first appearance in Amazing Fantasy #15.
