Spider-Man Actors Nominated For SAG Awards

Andrew Garfield in ‘Tick, Tick… Boom!’

Whilst Spider-Man: No Way Home continues to dominate, taking over $1.5 billion and now entering its fifth weekend at the #1 spot at the worldwide box office, things aren't looking too good when it comes to awards season.

The film was ineligible for the Golden Globes and the BAFTAs due to timing issues and now it's been revealed that No Way Home failed to score any nominations at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. It was unlikely that No Way Home would have been nominated for any of the main acting catagories, but there was some hope that it would be recognised in the Outstanding Action Performance By A Stunt Ensemble In A Motion Picture catagory, but it wasn't to be, with Black Widow, Dune, The Matrix Resurrections, No Time To Die and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings earning that honour instead.

It wasn't a total loss for Spider-Man fans however, as Andrew Garfield, following on from his Best Actor win at the Golden Globes earlier this week, was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in Tick, Tick... Boom! whilst Raimi trilogy actress Kirsten Dunst was also recognised for her performance in The Power of the Dog, being nominted for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role.

It remains to be seen if Spider-Man: No Way Home will receive any nominations at this year's Academy Awards, but check back here on February 8th to find out!
