American ticketing company Fandango recently ran a poll to determine the public's most anticipated movie of 2022, and to the surprise of no one, the upcoming sequel to Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse made the list!
The poll attracted over 6,000 voters, meaning that the outcome is a pretty good indication of the films people are most excited for. Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse (Part One) claimed the number two spot and is joined by other Marvel movies including Thor: Love and Thunder and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but it was ultimately Black Panther: Wakanda Forever that topped the list. You can see the full list below...
It's a very promising sign for Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse (Part One). Whilst the first film didn't do badly at the worldwide box office, taking a very respectful $375 million against a $90 million budget, it didn't exactly break records either. However the film received significant strong word of mouth upon its home release and ended up winning an Acadamy Award for Best Animated Picture, so there is bound to be a lot more hype around the sequel.
Spider-Man: Across The Universe (Part One) will be released on October 7, 2022, is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson and stars Oscar Isaac as Miguel O'Hara / Spider-Man 2099, Shameik Moore as Miles Morales / Spider-Man, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy / Spider-Woman, Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker / Spider-Man and Issa Rae as Jessica Drew / Spider-Woman.
