It's no secret that the Golden Globes have been mired in controversy in recent years, to the point that this year's event has been held behind closed doors after the revelation that almost all of the Hollywood Foreign Press, the institution that votes for the awards, were white middle-aged men.
The HFPA attempted to rectify this, with 20% of their members now representing different cultures, colours and genders. Whilst this is a small step in the right direction, it wasn't enough for many, and the winners have been announced on Twitter and their own website instead of the usual lavish ceremony that we're used to seeing on television.
That being said, winning a Golden Globe is still a huge deal. We're only here to announce Spider-Man related news and a Spider-Man actor has won Best Actor (Musical or Comedy) at this year's private ceremony.

Andrew Garfield must be having the time of his life right now. After appearing (and being an absolute stand-out) in Spider-Man: No Way Home, winning a Best Actor award to top it off must be an incredible feeling.
Congratulations Andrew!
